I started a build of cvs 1.11.17 using the methods described in the porting guide. Martin described a port of cvs 1.11.11 on this http://www.oooovms.dyndns.org/gnv/cvs/ location.
Using both documents, it was fairly easy to generate an executable.
However there are changes in the source that generate errors during runtime. Using advise from Martin I'll have to check the sourcefile(s) for misbeheaving open() and fdopen() ##.
There is still room for improvement!
With the (fd)open() adaptations for VMS in place, I hope CVS 1.11.17 will behave itself .
Look here http://www.4ovms.dyndns.org/ for a log of the port so far. _________________ Member of the OpenOffice to OpenVMS porting team, VMS Hobbyist, VMS advocate. |

So far as I know we have 1.11.16 working at the Remedy office. We made some changes so that filenames are now case preserved, not everything is made upper case. We did not manage to get ssh integration working, we are now making a cvs mirror of ACE/TAO using rsync and then use locally cvs to checkout the sources from a Linux server. From what I have heard this works now without problems.
